Bike and Hike

IMG_3212
Welp, another low key weekend. But Friday night I went to TGI Fridays, which definitely gets the adrenaline pumping for me. Had the Three-for-all appetizer (family tradition). Then me and the people I was with walked around Shibuya randomly. I played a video game for the first time since I've been here. It's amazing how I managed not to play any yet. I didn't pay though; I was coaxed by a friend. I played some kind of guitar game, where yes, you pick up a guitar and finger made-up cords. I also played a taiko drum game, where you smack a giant drum with sticks.

Next day I slept. A lot. That night, I went to Shinjuku to see a documentary on MotoGP, the elite professional series for motorcycle racing in the world. A person who works here at TUJ got me re-interested in the series. Anyway, it was at some indie theater. Before the movie started, these guys came out and gave a talk for 30 minutes, in Japanese, which made me somewhat angry because I wanted to see the movie. Then they had this raffle. I'm serious when I say that every person in the audience won except me. It's discrimination, I tell you. Anyway, the documentary was good. It was in English, voiced by Ewan McGregor. It was about MotoGP coming to America for the first time, on one of the world's most difficult and interesting tracks. It also mainly highlighted the American riders, who are surprisingly very good.

Sunday I went hiking somewhere, not sure. I followed some friends. It was good, except the trail we took was paved all the way to the top. Very un-nature like. Plus it was over flowing with people. But it was up a good mountain that offered good views of the valley that Tokyo sits in. But you couldn't see Tokyo because of the smog. Oh well. That night, we came back to Shibuya and we stopped in Subway. It's different. You definitely don't get as much as in America and the quality was just ok. Sandwiches are rare in Japan. And I like sandwiches. If you got the time and money, I'd appreciate if someone air mailed me overnight a hoagie (no mayo please) and/or chessesteak. And scrapple. I want scrapple now. They don't have it in Japan for some reason.
